Queer stylist & thrifted fashion consultant| washington dc
“Helping my community feel great in their clothes is more than a job- it’s a joy.”
hi, i’m macy.
my clients
queer & LGBTQ+
Every body deserves clothes that feel true Finding a stylist who truly gets the queer experience — not just aesthetically but personally — makes all the difference. I work with queer and LGBTQ clients who want a safe, non-judgmental space to explore, experiment, and build a wardrobe that finally feels like them. Whatever your identity and wherever you are on your journey, I’m here to help and support you.
outside the box
You're one of a kind- your clothes should be tooIf you're tired of looking like everyone else — or just tired of what's in stores — I'm your stylist. I specialize in finding the unexpected: vintage pieces, secondhand gems, and one-of-a-kind finds that give your wardrobe actual personality. My clients don't want to blend in. They want to stand out in a way that feels completely, unmistakably them.
My Approach
I'm a queer stylist, and this work is personal. I understand firsthand what it means to not always feel safe expressing yourself through clothes — and how transformative it is when you finally do.
My clients tend to be people who are done dressing for everyone else. They want to experiment, push boundaries, and build a wardrobe that feels genuinely theirs. That kind of exploration takes a non-judgmental space and someone who gets it from the inside. That's what I bring.
Thrifting is a natural extension of that philosophy. When you're looking for something that doesn't fit the mold, mainstream stores alone aren’t going to cut it. Secondhand and vintage shopping opens up a whole world of pieces with personality — and I know exactly where to find them. Building Kitty Collective — my Depop vintage resale business with over 1,500 five-star reviews — means I've spent years developing the eye and the instincts to find the good stuff.
power in playfulness
As a "professional thrifter" I've tried on hundreds of clothing items simply because I saw the potential in them. Sometimes they don't work — but sometimes I'm delightfully surprised. That same openness is what I bring to every client session: a willingness to experiment, and the eye to know when something special is hiding in plain sight.
safe to experiment
For a lot of queer and LGBTQ clients, a styling session is the first time they've had a truly non-judgmental space to explore what they actually want to wear. As a queer woman who found her style while often feeling misunderstood, I get it from the inside — so creating a kind, safe space for my clients is as important to me as finding the right pieces for them.
my Services
Every engagement begins with the GetDressedGo intake questionnaire — a deep dive into who you are, how you live, and what you're really trying to solve. It's the core of the GDG approach to styling, and the foundation of your experience with us.

Sometimes the screen is the safest place to start. In an hour long style strategy session with me, we’ll talk about where you’re feeling misaligned and how you long to express yourself. Even if you don’t know- I can help you figure it out, and suggest ways to start, at a pace you feel comfortable with.

Your own closet is sometimes the best place to start experimenting. In a Style Lab session, we go through what you own together — not to judge or purge, but to play. We'll try things you've never thought to combine, figure out what's actually working and why, and identify what's missing. For clients who find dressing rooms stressful or shopping overwhelming, this is a low-pressure way to start figuring out your style on your own terms, with someone in your corner who gets it.

Shopping with me is always tailored to you — your comfort level, your aesthetic, and your budget. Whether we're hunting through thrift stores, sourcing online, or navigating conventional stores with an unconventional eye, I'll find the approach that works. I've helped a lot of queer and LGBTQ clients find their style in spaces that weren't designed for them — and I've taught plenty of first-time thrifters how to spot quality, find their size, and walk away with pieces they actually love. Whatever you're looking for, I know how to find it.

An optional add-on to Shopping, a Style Lab, or both. After we've played and discovered together, I'll put together a lookbook that mixes what you already own with anything new we found. It's a visual, concrete reminder that you know who you are and you now have the clothes to express it.
